One Step Forward, Two Steps Back
It’s Friday, and I’m not really sure how that happened. Has this ever happened to you? I I feel like I haven’t sat down all week, yet I am fighting a losing battle. I clean it up, I turn around and it’s destroyed again. I wash the clothes, I fold them and put them away and the hamper is over flowing yet again. How in the hell does this happen?
I can’t seem to catch up.
Time is working against me.
It’s not like I’ve been eating Bon bons and taking long and luxurious naps (When you wish upon a star…..), I’ve been running around like a crazy person all week.
I don’t know why human cloning is so controversial, I could use one of those things! Hmmmm……maybe that’s what I should ask for as a Mother’s Day gift. Ooooo! Or the ability to wiggle my nose and make everything spotless like that chick on Bewitched.
How do you keep up? Any and all suggestions are appreciated!

OMG. That is my life. I have heard about cleaning fairies, ones that sneak into your home and clean up messes. Unfortunately, I have 4 messy gremlins instead. I always try to stop and pick up their mess before moving on to the next fun. And also, before we go up for nap & bed, we clean. 5 minutes with their help (not really helpful except that it inhibits their mess creating ability for a short while) goes a long way. I also run my dishwasher every night, and empty it every morning. And altho i only fold & put away laundry every other day, i still wash and dry AT LEAST one load every morning. That way, if i have piles of clothes, at leaat they are clean. Good luck my fellow mess fighter! May the force be with you!

I know, right! It’s impossible. To keep my sanity (because apparently I’m the only one the chaos bothers) I just let it go during the day, but at night before bedtime. It’s pick up time. This worked better when my kids were little, I’d set the kitchen timer for 15 minutes and see how much we can get done. It’s amazing how fast their little bodies will run around and they think it’s fun!! Now they’re older and get paid for their chores, no workie no money. And if it’s their chore and I do it, they pay me. (Honestly this is better in theory but it’s a work in progress). Good luck!

And bless you for raising six kids and coming out the other end with your sanity in tact! I am the youngest of six and I haven’t a clue how my mother managed.

How can such small people go through so many clothes? That’s what I want to know. They should be on a one outfit a day quota and that’s that :)
